Titanium Core

Eight weeks game project

Titanium Core is all about adapting to the current situation. Commanding a squad of mechs equipped with different setups of weaponry, It is up to the player to decide when to activate their one time use abilities and choosing which weapons to attack with. With our chance to hit combat the player gets rewarded when positioning their mechs well and if they place them behind cover, reduces the enemies chance to hit them. Each weapon has a perfect range which is its optimal range to shoot from. Straying away from that perfect range lowers the chance to hit with that weapon. It is key to position the mechs so that the weapons shoot from their perfect range to lower the risk of missing.

Game design

Level Design

During this project, I worked with making the levels. I started with a grid system that we had implemented in the Unity engine. And started to make prototypes of levels to try out the feel.

Then when we had around 20 different levels we chose our favorites and started to balance them so they would work with the different enemies and player characters' abilities. And after the balancing is done we started building and setting up the more visual features and adding some life to the scene with moving objects around in the level.

Character Design

In the game we have different characters, each character has their own ability. Me and another designer worked and came up with different ideas and discussed it with the programmers to get something that worked good, feel good, and was balanced for the game. I also worked closely with the 3D artist for the robots to fit in with the class they had.
