OctoRush
Four weeks game project
In Octorush you take the role as an alien squid parent who lost his young ones to an evil research organization. It's up to you, the player, to break into their facility, rescue as many of your children as possible before the lockdown is in effect and escape all but impossible.
Technical Game design
Ability system
During this project, I worked closely with the programmers to answer any design questions they had but also integrate the ability system and tweaking them.
Together with the programers, we prototyped different abilities that the player should poses. The programmers made a system that I used to implement the ability and tweaking them to my need to give the best feel for the players.
Oil slide
We created an oil spill that the player could sprint on to get more speed and be able to get threw smaller spaces that the player would not be able to get threw otherwise
Implosion
The implosion makes the player able to move an object by shooting it nearby and it will pull al the objects near to the center like a black hole.

I worked on figuring out how it should work and tweaking the strength and length of the pull from the implosion.
Explosion
The explosion is a modular ability that comes from the player shooting the implosion on an oil barrel changing it to an explosion that can destroy objects such as cracked walls and glass windows.
